So, I am finally coming along in my process work for my mailers, my portfolio, and some of my own artworks. :) It has been a pretty long and frustrating progress, but I managed to find my ideas and move along with them. This means that I got pictures to post (AT LAST!). I am currently taking a small break from my next digital painting, just so I can upload my process work here. (note this was written at 12 pm....it is so late now)
First up are my mailer ideas. After weeks of trying to find a theme, I got really annoyed with my work, and just thought "I want to get away from everything." This thought gave me my theme, which is "Escaping from Reality". Shown here are my rough-finalized sketches (some are still being drawn):( 1) Floating away with Balloons (2) Listening to a Different tune and (3) Child's imagination. First idea was inspired with my fascination of flying away with balloons (though, ironically, I have a fear of them). Second idea was partially from my love of big headphones and my friends in the city life. Third idea was the fact that in my childhood, I always like to play pretend with my toys whenever I take baths. So far, there are two different approaches to that third idea. One was just a boy seeing the aquatic life underwater in a forest environment. The other was the bathtub idea where a giant squid is tearing a ship apart at the bottomless deep sea.
I have failed to get one of my burlesque/circus themed works in for a show (due to less time), but I do plan to try to submit it in for the Boston Burlesque Expo. I want it to look good at least... so the two ideas are: (1) Snake Lady and (2) Fiery Sass (female fireblower blowing kisses...with fire, duh).
I am really frustrated with trying to sort the images on blogger... perhaps I'll sort it out later. Time to relearn HTML again...ugh...
